DTN COMMENTS: Another very slow start to the day with just a few
asking prices noted at $187 in the South, but they are still not
established in the North. Bids remain very hard to find this
morning. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until
later this afternoon and/or Friday. Beef cutouts are expected to
be lower with light to moderate box movement.
According to the Export Sales Highlight Report, for the period of
September 20 through September 26, beef net sales of 22,500 MT for

Korea (7,900 MT), China (6,200 MT), Mexico (2,800 MT), Japan
(2,600 MT), and Taiwan (1,000 MT). Exports of 17,700 MT--a
marketing-year high--were up 42 percent from the previous week and
28 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were
primarily to South Korea (4,100 MT), Japan (4,000 MT), China
(2,900 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), and Taiwan (1,400 MT).
