   Mixed Tones Follow the Livestock Complex through Thursday's End

   Friday will be another big day for the complex, as the market has yet to see
any cash cattle trade.

GENERAL COMMENTS:

   The livestock complex closed mixed Thursday afternoon as traders helped push
the live cattle contracts higher, but both the feeder cattle and lean hog
contracts were met with some opposition. No cash cattle trade developed
throughout the day. May corn is up 9 3/4 cents per bushel and May soybean meal
is down $0.60. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 784.67 points and the
NASDAQ is down 58.49 points.
